To achieve their sustainability goals for this packaging
Back to the Roots partnered with ProAmpac, a global leader in flexible packaging and material science. ProAmpac offers a range of sustainable options for flexible packaging, and they worked closely with Back to the Roots to find the best solution for their concerns. After careful consideration, the teams decided to go forward with a ProActive PCR® solution which would utilize post-consumer recycled (PCR) content for the packaging’s film resin.
To maximize their sustainability efforts, Back to the Roots and ProAmpac elected to use cPCR (content which has been through an advanced recycling process) for 100% of the polyethylene film resin used to manufacture the packaging. The cPCR material can equal the performance of virgin resin-based film, and provides a durable, vibrantly printed solution which runs smoothly on current packaging lines.
The cPCR material being used is certified through the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC+), which provides a third-party validation for the packaging’s sustainability claims. With this independent confirmation of the cPCR usage, Back to the Roots’ customers will have a clearer understanding of the product’s impact on the environment.
In a market where sustainability is increasingly vital, Back to the Roots successfully navigated the challenge of creating eco-friendly packaging without compromising quality or efficiency. This success story stands as a testament to the power of innovative solutions, showcasing how businesses can make a tangible difference in the world while thriving commercially.
